A train derailment in northwest Indiana caused some South Shore trains to be suspended temporarily Monday during the morning rush hour.

No injuries were reported from the train derailment in Michigan City, Indiana, according to a statement posted on the Northern Indiana Commuters Transportation District's website.

As of 9 a.m., officials said train service was returning to normal.

Earlier Monday, Metra said on its website that it would honor South Shore tickets.
