Harris County, Texas, sheriff's deputies are investigating a case of sexual assault in Cypress involving a hatchet.

The victim is a 16-year-old girl who was found naked and bloody in a movie theater parking lot along the Northwest Freeway. The victim told police she had been approached from behind and dragged into a nearby field. She was attacked, sexually assaulted and hit in the head with a hatchet.

Deputies say people leaving the theater just before midnight found the victim walking with no clothes on in the theater parking lot. They told deputies the woman had a serious head wound, which was bleeding badly.

Deputies searched the wooded area with dogs but didn't turn up any sign of a suspect. He is described as a white man, 5'7" to 5'8", thin to muscular build, wearing dark-colored clothing.

The victim was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment.
