Some Illinois lawmakers are hoping to use Tuesday's State of the Union Address to refocus the debate on gun control.

Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky will be bringing the mother of slain Evanston teen Justin Murray to the speech as her guest.

Justin Murray was gunned down in November 2012 and his murder is still unsolved.

His mother Carolyn Murray said that she's committed to solving her son's case.

"I don't know what it's going to take to get some answers and some resolutions to the gun violence that's been plaguing my community," she said. "But I'm not going to stop until I get someone arrested in my son's case and until we get some control on these guns."

Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth invited the mother of 14-year-old Starkesia Reed who was killed by a stray bullet in 2006.
