PHOTOS: Chopper 7 flies over the smoldering homes in Crystal Lake
The fire began Wednesday at a home in the 3200-block of Carrington Drive. High winds helped the flames spread to neighboring houses.
A group of boys are credited with alerting neighbors of the fire.
Three firefighters were slightly injured; all have been released from the hospital as of Thursday morning.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
