Chicago weather: Drastic drop in temps, isolated showers

May 2, 2013 (CHICAGO)

"Quite a change," ABC7 Meteorologist said. There was a 30-degree drop within 24 hours, from 84-degrees on Wednesday to 54-degrees on Thursday. The further away you get from the lake, the warmer it is.

"Downtown, near the lake, we are stuck in the 40s," ABC7 Meteorologist Phil Schwarz said. We'll varying temperatures across the area.

Some isolated storms could hit Thursday afternoon and evening, but nothing like what we saw a couple of weeks ago when there was heavy flooding.

"Nothing severe here," Phil Schwarz. "In McHenry County, I think you folks will have the best chance of seeing some precipitation."

Those rains will continue through the weekend, but won't be a "complete washout," according to Schwarz. "But there will be some rain in the air."
