The boy was hit about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday on the city's south side. A police spokesman says officers found the boy on the street when they arrived and he was taken to Riley Hospital for Children in critical condition.
Officers were told that the boy was trying to cross the busy two-lane street when he was hit. Police were seeking the public's help in finding the car that hit the boy.
