Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the start of more than $1.5 billion in roadway, waterway, and transit infrastructure projects for this year Tuesday.
City officials say the new projects will provide about 6,500 jobs.
This is the second year of the city's so called "Building a New Chicago Infrastructure Program."
