Man rescued from fire on Chicago's West Side dies

A man rescued from a burning home on Chicago's West Side has died.

The 50-year-old man was pulled from the basement of the house in the 4100 block of West Gladys early Wednesday morning. He later died at a hospital.

Officials say he had a heart attack and suffered from smoke inhalation.

Firefighters say there were no working smoke detectors in the home. A firefighter was also hurt in the blaze, but is expected to be OK.
