Research says smoking cessation treatments work

Researchers from the Cochrane Library reviewed data from nearly 300 studies comprised of over 100,000 people. Those who used treatments were more likely to stop smoking for at least six months than people who took placebos.

People on nicotine replacement and bupropion brand names Zyban and Wellbutrin were about twice as likely to stop People who took Varenicline such as Chantix were about three times as likely to stop.

These treatments may not be a magic bullet but experts say they can really help if you try them.
