Francis Cardinal George announced the beginning of its $350 million Teach Who Christ Is campaign Wednesday. The funding will offer benefits to Catholic education in Cook and Lake counties.
Cardinal George says the archdiocese's schools help make children responsible members of society.
"We try to create communities of love where children are safe to learn... you can talk about anything there," said Cardinal George.
The archdiocese has already raised more than $82 million, or 24 percent of its goal for the three-year campaign.
