Cancer patients catch fun at Wrigley Field

June 16, 2013 (CHICAGO)

The team partnered up with Advocate Health Care to bring 10 pediatric patients and their family to Sunday's event.

The kids and their families got to spend the afternoon running the bases, playing catch and visiting the dugouts.

One patient, a 10-year-old girl, is battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

"I was looking forward to playing catch with my dad, running the bases and stuff like that," said Emily Beazley.

Emily has been battling cancer for a while, my daughter. and just to have her healthy and being able to play catch with me on Father's Day, it's the greatest gift I can ask for," said Ed Beazley.

Other Cubs fans also joined in the fun at the Friendly Confines.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Chicago Cubs Chairities, which helps at-risk youth.
