Transit agencies urge drivers to 'dump the pump'

The Regional Transportation Authority and other transportation agencies hosted a rally Thursday to mark the 8th annual 'Dump the Pump' day.

People were encouraged to use public transportation to save money, reduce congestion, and help the environment.

Those taking part learned how to cut their dependence on gasoline, and prizes were given out too.

CTA, Metra, Pace, and even the Chicago Water Taxi company were on hand to offer ways to make commuting easier and more efficient.
