According to the City of Chicago Independent Police Review Authority, the man was shot by police in the shooting at 56th and State in Chicago on Thursday.
Officials say a 21-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition.
