Indiana teens recovering from Florida parasailing accident

July 5, 2013 (ROANOKE, Ind.)

On Monday, Alexis Fairchild and Sidney Good, both 17, went parasailing while on vacation in Panama Beach.

Their line broke loose from the boat, slamming them into two buildings.

Both girls remain in a Florida hospital, but they are showing signs of improvement.

"She actually got up today with therapy and was able to walk," said Michael Fairchild, Alexis' father.

"She's responding to us, by voice, she will move her arms and her legs, she will respond to commands," said Amy Good, Sidney's mother.

In the girls' hometown of Roanoke, Indiana, friends and supporters are raising money to help pay for the mounting medical bills.
