Alexis Fairchild and Sidney Good were on vacation in Panama City when their tether broke, slamming them into a nearby condo building.
Alexis is able to walk with a walker, but Sidney is still on a ventilator.
"She actually got up today with therapy and is able to walk," Michael Fairchild, Alexis' father said. "She's responding to us, by voice, she will move her arms and her legs, she will respond to commands."
Friends and families in the girls' hometown of Roanoke, Ind. are raising money to help pay for their medical bills.
