An online vehicle search tool being finalized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will allow the nation's car and truck owners to determine if their vehicle has been recalled and whether it's been fixed.
A highway funding bill signed into law Saturday requires the agency to launch the database, which must be online no later than one year from now.
