Study: Sweet lovers prone to binge drinking

July 15, 2013

University of Indiana researchers published their findings in the Journal "Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research."

They studied the brains of young adults drinking either water or a very sweet sugar water.

They found the reaction in the brain's reward system was the same when drinking the sugar water and when binge drinking.

Researchers say this could be an indicator for a person's risk for alcoholism.
