Operation PUSH volunteers allegedly racially profiled by police

July 15, 2013 (CHICAGO)

The Reverend, Congressman Bobby Rush, Father Michael Pfleger and others were talking about the Trayvon Martin case on Monday when they also mentioned an alleged racial profiling encounter involving four young male volunteers at Rainbow PUSH.

Earlier Monday, the young men say they left Operation PUSH to go to the bus stop, when police stopped them, handcuffed them and put them into the patrol car.

One of the volunteers is Patrick Risper, a Chicago State student majoring in criminal justice.

Rainbow PUSH plans for four events in the next few weeks to get the word out about racial profiling.
