Speed cameras tested in 4 safety zones

August 17, 2013 (CHICAGO)

The city expects to pick 50 co-called children's safety zones, nears schools or parks, for camera installations later this year.

Some of the cameras being tested use flash bulbs, which might be visible to drivers as they pass by.

No tickets are being issued during the test period, which is expected to last about two weeks.

Once testing is complete, there will be a 30-day warning period.
