Its mission is to prepare students for careers in the health fields.

The magnet school will provide a college prep curriculum, with an emphasis on math and science.

"This is an exciting opportunity to give kids exposure, focus them early on, even if they don't choose a profession in health sciences the background in physics, science, biology, chemistry math will serve them in any career they choose," said Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

The school is partnering with major healthcare providers, so students can get hands on experience in real medical labs.
