Durbin meets with seriously injured vets

It provides technical, financial and practical support to family caregivers.

"Allows me the ability to stay at home and take care of tony in an environment that's most comfortable," said Andrea Simone, injured veteran's wife.

"As an injured soldier you put that burden onto your spouse without really doing it on purpose. He just notices it and it hurts me to have to hurt him," said injured veteran Rebecca Lopez.

The program now serves the families of nearly 11,000 veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars and members of the armed forces.
