Fruit over juice may reduce diabetes risk

August 30, 2013

An international team of scientists studied more than 180,000 patients.

They looked at eating habits as well as history of diabetes and found that people who ate three or more servings per week of raw, whole fruits such as apples or blueberries had a significantly lower risk of diabetes.

But for those who drank three or more servings of fruit juice a week, the risk was eight percent higher.
