With Labor Day upon us, Chicago enjoyed a near perfect weather day.
"It's beautiful weather, just beautiful. We couldn't ask for more, just keep the rain away from us," said Jose Garcia.
Many took in the music, food and fun at the first year of the National Latin Festival.
"We were here (Saturday) in the area for the Polish Fest, so we decided to come (Sunday) to see this, check this out," said Ruth Vasquez.
It's just one of the many ways to experience the last days of a season known for leisure, summer.
Over at the 3rd annual Remix Chicago, kids enjoyed both pony and camel rides.
The Logan Square event not only signals the unofficial end of summer but does much more.
"A portion of the proceeds are going to go to the Friends of Goethe School. Goethe School has a really great program, where they teach kids about ecology and recycling," said Jay Lyon, Remix Chicago organizer.
And for those who couldn't wait to fire up the grill Monday, there was the Windy City BBQ Classic as we all bid farewell to the hazy days and heat of summer.
