Chicago police say officers on foot are now patrolling all 20 Operation Impact zones, which are areas of the city with the most violent crime.

Police started targeting those areas of the city February 1. They say the stepped-up efforts have resulted in a dramatic reduction in crime and violence.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and police Supt. Garry McCarthy were expected to talk more about the effort later Tuesday.
