Eugene Jonsson, 84, went missing from his Arlington Heights home on August 22.
His car was found by a landscaper working near Route 59 and Hawthorne Lane in a heavily wooded area.
Jonsson's body was next to the car.
Although an investigation is still underway, West Chicago police believe Jonsson's car veered off the road into a ravine and crashed into several trees.
