ComEd to refund customers after 2007 rate hike

October 2, 2013 (CHICAGO)

An Illinois appeals court has ordered ComEd to refund nearly 37 million dollars to its northern illinois customers.

The court decision follows a six-year battle over the calculation of a 2007 rate hike. Each ComEd customer will receive a refund of about $10.

ComEd said it's disappointed with the ruling and that it's committed to making upgrades that it says will give customers control over their energy consumption and costs.
