Man charged after package halts Metra in Lake Forest

October 4, 2013 (LAKE FOREST, Ill.)

Metra Union Pacific / North Line trains were stopped Friday morning for nearly an hour near the Lake Forest station, located at 691 N. Western Ave., according to officials.

Authorities charged Charlie Mills with disorderly conduct. Police found Mills locked inside a CVS store bathroom near the area, where he was "huffing" computer keyboard cleaner.

Police say two union pacific maintenance workers said they saw Mills drop a large duffle bag by the tracks at Westminster Road.

No explosive devices or hazardous materials were found in the bag.

Metra announced trains were moving again at 11 a.m.
