Man wearing names of women affected by breast cancer

October 6, 2013 (NORTH RIVERSIDE, Ill.)

Brian Przybylski, 37, of North Riverside, is wearing a pink construction helmet for October, along with the rest of his coworkers at Gibson Electric & Technology Solutions (as well as parent company EMCOR Group, Inc.).

Przybylski says he decided to add the names of women who are battling or lost their lives to breast cancer after his wife encouraged him to do something extra.

"It's a small thing I'm doing," Przybylski said. "These people are out there battling a nasty disease."

Przybylski decided to post his proposal on Facebook to respect people's privacy. Several people have already offered names for his helmet. The helmet also bears his mother's name, who was diagnosed with breast cancer before she died when Przybylski was young.

Przybylski is open to writing many more names on his helmet. "We'll see if anyone out there wants me to add it," he said.
