The city says there will be a severe weather plan, still in development and that during the winter months, the number of bikes available will reduce depending on the usage numbers.
The city says if more funding becomes available they hope to expand from the current boundaries of 6300 North and 6300 South.
The city said last month Chicagoans and visitors had taken 365,000 bike trips since the program launched in late June. So far, 240 bike stations have been installed across the city. Officials say they hope to bump that number up to 400 by next spring.
