'Carrie' prank at coffee shop promotes movie remake

October 8, 2013 (NEW YORK)

Twisted jokesters rigged tables and books to move by remote control, making it appear as though a possessed woman, who was angry over spilled coffee, had telekinetic powers. The crew even constructed a fake wall and pulley system to create the illusion of a customer flying up into the air.

The people behind the adaptation of the classic horror film "Carrie" staged the prank as promotion for the movie, which debuts in theaters Oct. 18.
