Ravenswood sex abuse by police impersonator triggers warning

October 16, 2013 (CHICAGO)

The woman says the attacker posed as a police officer in the incident, which occurred 12 days ago in the 4700-block of North Clark.

According to police, it was 1 a.m. on October 4 when a man pulled up alongside the woman and identified himself as a police officer. He told the victim that someone was following her and then allegedly encouraged the woman to get into his car for her own safety.

Later, he is said to have forced her out of the vehicle so that he could "search her," at which time the woman was sexually abused.

The victim, who would not disclose her age, describes the attacker as a male, possibly of mixed African-American and Caucasian race. She says he was 30 to 40 years old, approximately 6 ft. and 200 lbs. with a short, afro haircut.

The woman also said he appeared to be good looking, clean cut and well-spoken and was driving a large dark-colored SUV.
