Sharaya Tindal and Alex Wiesendanger say they're concerned about such issues as violence and school closings.
They also attended a Take Back Chicago meeting on Tuesday in which speakers shared ideas for helping working class families.
They're disappointed the mayor did not take part.
"We stand here as two people committed to each other and to our city and to our God that we will not stand idly by and let our city fall to ruin," Tindal said.
