More Chicago police officers will patrol some city parks.

The Chicago Police Department says it is going to pay off-duty officers to patrol the city's most dangerous parks, but officials would not specific which 20 parks would get the extra patrols.

The effort will begin in this month and it will cost $250,000 for the rest of the year.

The city has budgeted an extra $4 million for next year.
