A groundbreaking is held at a South Side park that was the site of a massive shooting just two months ago.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel attended Saturday's ground breaking at Cornell Square Park in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

By spring, a new playground, complete with a water park for summer use, will be in place for families in the area.

Back in September, 13 people were hurt when a shooting broke out at the park, including a 3-year-old boy.

Six men are now facing charges in that shooting.
