Wrigley Field 100th birthday to be celebrated throughout 2014 Cubs season

November 12, 2013 (CHICAGO)

The Chicago Cubs organization plans to commemorate the occasion throughout the 2014 season with everything from specialty foods to historic uniforms.

The iconic ballpark opened in 1914, originally named Weeghman Park. The Cubs started playing there in 1916, and the park was renamed Wrigley Field in 1926.

The ballpark's official birthday celebration will take place during the April 23 home game against Arizona.
