Wrigley Field renovations could get $8.5M tax break

November 12, 2013 (CHICAGO)

That proposal passed the City Council Committee on Tuesday and may go to the full council on Wednesday.

The tax break comes under rules for renovating of historic sites.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Alderman Tom Tunney-- a frequent critic of Cub renovation plans in the past-- defended the move, citing the large amount of money the team will spend on the project.
