The Coal City High School show choir was among Saturday night's performers.
Members of The Footnotes talked about what it meant to participate in the event following Sunday's deadly storms.
"A lot of people were actually in shock that the small town of Coal City actually got hit by a tornado, but we're all sticking together and we're pulling through," said Taylor Cirrencione.
"We always say in our town that there's like small town love that you can always feel and in moments like this, you really, really feel it," said Emily Adair.
"When you come up here you forget about what happened down, like what happened to my house and stuff it's just feels like everything's back to normal," Michael Steffes said.
The students say it means a lot to have support not just from their own community but from all over the state.
