The choice is still ultimately up to Time's editors, but this year they're using social media to see who readers think should bear the title.
Users can vote by tweeting their choice with the hashtag "#timepoy" or go to Time.com.
The reader's choice poll ends on Wednesday of next week.
The Person of the Year will be announced on December 11.
