They were attempting to save the building at Whittier Elementary School in the Pilsen community.
After the August demonstration the protesters were charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass on state-supported land.
The judge agreed with defense attorneys that prosecutors did not prove the field house was on state supported land.
School officials said the building had deteriorated and needed to be replaced.
