Man says he's banned from Walmart worldwide for life

December 11, 2013

Joe Cantrell says he's disabled, so every penny counts. That's why he started ad matching, checking to see who has the best deal on an item then asking Walmart to match the price. According to Cantrell, a store employee recently told him that wasn't allowed. He complained and the sheriff was called.

Four days later when Cantrell returned to the store, he says, three deputies cuffed him, gave him a court summons and told him he was banned from Walmart.

"I felt shamed. I felt like I was the bad guy. And I know that I am not a bad guy," he said. Walmart issued a statement saying Cantrell threatened an employee. The store says the safety of its employees and customers is top priority.
