Low-Calorie Holiday Cocktails

The holidays are all about indulgence, and many of us pack on a few pounds. But you can soften the blow a bit with low-calorie versions of food and drinks. Jasmine Jafferali, Lifestyle and Wellness Consultant, came into our ABC 7 Eyewitness News Studio to show us how to make tasty "skinny" cocktails that can also be family-friendly.


Jasmine's Recipes:

Snowy Raspberry Shooters
Total Calories: 75 per shooter
Black Raspberry Sparkling ICE
1 oz. vanilla flavored vodka
White sugar nonpareils for rimming each shot glass

1. Wet the rim of a chilled shot glass and dip into a shallow bowl of nonpareils
2. Pour in chilled vodka and top with a splash of Black Raspberry Sparkling ICE

Black Raspberry Icicle
Total Calories: 115 per drink
1 oz Makers Mark Bourbon
1 oz Dry vermouth
3 oz Black Raspberry Sparkling ICE

1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice
2. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass
3. Garnish with fresh berries

Peach Nectarine Fizz
Total Calories: 116 per drink
3 oz. Peach Nectarine Sparkling ICE
2 oz. Champagne or Sparkling Wine
Sliced peaches for garnish

1. Pour champagne, then Peach Nectarine Sparkling ICE over ice
2. Garnish with sliced peaches

PomBerry Splash
Total Calories: 147 per drink
4 oz. Pomegranate Blueberry Sparkling ICE
1 ½ oz. pomegranate vodka
Splash of freshly squeezed lemon
Blueberries and rosemary sprig for garnish

1. Pour vodka and lemon juice over ice and stir
2. Top with Pomegranate Blueberry Sparkling ICE, stir gently to combine the ingredient
3. Garnish with fresh or frozen blueberries and a spring of rosemary

Sparkling Cucumber Chiller
Total Calories: 105 per drink
4 oz. Lemonade Sparkling ICE
1 ½ oz. vodka
Cucumber and lemon slices

1. Muddle a few cucumber sliced with vodka. Strain and pour into a tall chilled glass over ice
2. Top with Lemonade Sparkling ICE
3. Garnish with lemon and cucumber slices

Strawberry Basil Lemonade
Total Calories: 114 per drink
3 oz. Strawberry Lemonade Sparkling ICE
1 oz. white rum
Basil leaves and Strawberry for Garnish

1. Muddle basil leaves with rum
2. Strain and pour over ice
3. Top with Strawberry Lemonade Sparkling ICE
4. Garnish with fresh strawberries and basil leaves
