Chicago police were out canvassing the Northwest Side Belmont-Cragin neighborhood Sunday talking to neighbors about the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl last week.

Police say she was walking to school Tuesday near a Safe Passage route when someone hit her on the head, dragged her between two houses, and raped her.

Authorities say they hope to develop new leads on who may have assaulted her.

At last word, the girl was still in the hospital.
