Carolina Reaper peppers set Guinness record for hottest pepper

Ed Currie now holds the Guinness World Record for the hottest pepper, which he calls the Carolina Reaper.

The heat of the pepper is measured in Scoville heat units.

Zero is bland, and a regular Jalepeno pepper registers around 5,000 on the Scoville scale.

As for Currie's pepper, it measures 1,569,300 Scoville heat units.
