Chicago Bears fans not shy about disappointment after season-ending loss to Green Packers

December 29, 2013 (CHICAGO)

After the game, fans had many choice words for the Bears defense. Even though the game was neck-and-neck throughout the four quarters, the Packers touchdown in the last minute stunned Bears fans. Many thought the Bears had it.

It was like a funeral march as bundled up Bears fans walked out of Soldier Field dejected and once they got to their cars, fans left as quickly as they could, many still stunned that with seconds to go in the game, the Bears blew it.

"How do you leave a guy wide open behind the defense on 4th down?" asked fan Nick Ripson.

And that is exactly what every fan was wondering as they exited Soldier Field Sunday night.

"It's still kind of sinking in to be honest with you," fan Donte Chandler said. "We had it. It was so close and then we had to give up the big play."

Hopes were high before the game as tailgaters looked forward to an historic game, where for the first time the Bears and Packers played the season finale with the title at stake. Bars were packed as the Bears got on the board first.

"I'm glad it came down to this game to end the season," fan Mike Knight said.

Jennifer Smith and her son Payton enjoyed the rivalry indoors while her husband and daughter went to the game.

"We are warmer, better food and Bears are looking pretty good so far," she said.

And the Bears continued to look good until those final seconds.

Even some of the Green Bay fans do not think their team is going too far in the playoffs.

Bears fans are already thinking about next year. Many say for the Bears to win, there must be some roster and coaching staff changes.

Fans say if there is any bright side about Sunday's game, it was Matt Forte.
