A South Elgin pet store is hoping for the return of a baby sugar glider taken from the store last week.

A worker at Critters Pet Shop on Randall Road said it was taken either Thursday evening or Friday morning.

It happened while a worker was changing the animal's food and left the cage unlocked.

The baby sugar glider is about two months old and the size of a silver dollar and without its mom's milk, it could die.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the shop.
