Disability parking law on handicapped placard violators in Chicago to be enforced

Thursday the city of Chicago will begin enforcing a new state law narrowing the use of disability parking placards.

The law allows free metered parking only for drivers who get placards based on their doctors saying they meet standards.

Violators will face a $65 fine downtown and $50 in other areas of the city.
