Her life inspired an Oscar nominated movie. Now, the woman forced by the Roman Catholic Church to give up her child has met Pope Francis.

Philomena Lee was one of an estimated 60,000 Irish women forced to give up their children.

Those records have not been made public. On Wednesday, the Vatican hosted a screening of the film 'Philomena.'

The pope did not attend, but an aide said he thinks the pope will intervene to make the records available.
