Police in suburban Deerfield say a woman lied about her mother's health to avoid getting a traffic ticket.

She was on her cell phone while driving and claimed it was because she was talking to her elderly mother who was having a medical emergency. Janet Chencinski, 67, was pulled over Wednesday.

The officer had an ambulance sent to her mother's house.

Police say she said she was feeling fine and her daughter hadn't called her that day.

Chencinski faces three charges, including making a false report.
