The 50-year-old woman was walking in the 5800 block of North Milwaukee Avenue around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday when the driver struck her and then drove off.
The woman was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, fire officials said.
Charges are pending against the 34-year-old man who allegedly was behind the wheel, police said Sunday.
