Governor Pat Quinn announced the investment projects Saturday.
They include about $800,000 to fund a complete rehab of the Riverside train station.
In Evanston, more than a million dollars will be spent on a Sheridan Road-Chicago Avenue bike path.
And the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will receive more than a million dollars to construct a new trail and grade separation at County Farm Road.
